Wake up!

Found this one years of my all-time favorites!

A man and his wife were having some problems at home
and were giving each other the silent treatment.
Suddenly, the man realized that the next day,
he would need his wife to wake him at 5:00 AM
for an early morning business flight.
Not wanting to be the first to break the silence (and LOSE),
he wrote on a piece of paper,
"Please wake me at 5:00 AM."
He left it where he knew she would find it.
The next morning, the man woke up,
only to discover it was 9:00 AM
and he had missed his flight.
Furious, he was about to go and see why his wife hadn't wakened him,
when he noticed a piece of paper by the bed.
The paper said,
"It is 5:00 AM. Wake up."

  1. 333 I opened a speech at my good friend's wedding with this story after hearing it in class. I got the laugh I was looking for, and everyone looked around knowingly. It's funny that adults can lower themselves to something that is seemingly so childish, but aren't conscious of it due to it being passive aggressive as oposed to aggressive.

  2. 333 A similar story happened between David and his roomate Jonny. They were also going through the silent treatment after a serious discussion turned argument over football. David was always the one to pay the bill but relied on John to pay him his part. David decided during their battle of silence to leave John a note asking him to please pay the electricity bill that week, thinking Jonny would never dare losing by saying he'd rather David pay for them. When he returned to in no electricity working he found a note saying "the money's in the drawer, thanks for paying as always."!!!!!

  3. My best friend and I are constantly arguing. We also happen to be in some of the same classes during the school week. During on of our most recent fights, we stopped talking to each other. She went out the night before a paper was due, and I conveniently continued the silent treatment and forgot to remind her of the paper. She received a zero while I got a B. And when she asked me about it once we were talking again, I simply reminded her that we were not talking and I didn't want to make her uncomfortable by breaking our silence simply to remind her of the paper.

  4. This is similar story that happened between my friend and me with forgetting to bring the project to class. My friend was supposed to bring in the written part of the project for the class but forgot it. I was supposed to do the speech part of the project. I was so mad about it that gave my friend the silent treatment for a period of time. I asked my friend why his part of project was not done and said that he had different project to finish. By the end, I reminded my friend the reason why I was mad was that you should done your part on time. This story is an example of level 2 passive agressive behavior.
